St Peter’s Church is a 300 year old cornerstone in the life of Freehold Borough, NJ. We have a significant community outreach program of which feeding the hungry is a central part.
We have launched our “Building Crossroads” campaign with the goal of building a new, modern Parish Hall and Community Center to help expand and improve our ministries to the poor, homeless, hungry and disadvantaged. To date, we have raised $690,000 toward our goal of $1.9mm for this project.
The focus of this fundraiser is to raise $3,400 specifically for the purchase of a new convection oven for our kitchen in the new building.
Our community program, in partnership with Feed All God’s Children, operates year-round and serves lunch meals three days a week and also has a weekly community supper in partnership with other area churches. In the course of a year, we will serve almost 15,000 meals, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. We have created a place where those in need come not only for a hot meal but also for companionship, non-judgmental ear and a few smiles and laughs. We know how important this regular interaction is for everyone involved and are excited about the ability to expand it to others. We believe the new building will allow us to feed 30% more people than we do today.
We will be focused on raising a significant portion of the overall project dollars from our parishioners and foundations but are reaching out to the broader community of Freehold Borough, Freehold Township and Western Monmouth County to make other caring people aware of the great work being done here and asking for their support and donations to make our expanded ministries and services a reality.
