The reason for this fundraiser
Crestwood Kindness Fund

As you know, 2020 is an unprecedented year, with the pandemic having a significant impact on everyone throughout our community.  We are all impacted in different ways, and although we might not all be in the same boat, we are certainly in the same storm.

In particular, we recognize the additional stress on our schools, teachers, students and families as they are challenged by uncertainty, and the disruption to regular in-person school. As a result, the Crestwood Elementary PTA is reaching out to ask for your support of all of our programs, and especially the Crestwood PTA’s Kindness Fund.

Under the guidance of Principal Porzio and Crestwood’s school counselors, the PTA is able to use the Kindness Fund to meet the unanticipated needs of our families, teachers and students as they arise throughout the school year.

Together, as a community, we are raising $5,000.

About The PTA’s Kindness Fund:  The PTA’s Kindness Fund has supported numerous activities over the last few years, all with the goal of supporting our families, teachers and students. Last year, the Kindness Fund was used in support of the Markiya Dickson Memorial, racks for the Care Closet, mindful morning group called “10–Zen”, intervention materials for student literacy, and a postage machine so that mailings could be sent out directly from the school office (vitally important for our ESOL families).

How to participate:  Scroll through to browse the many  incentives (gifts and services) that have been kindly donated by our local community and businesses. There are options at every level from $10 - $560! By claiming an item, 100% of your contribution (minus minimal credit card fees) will be donated directly to the PTA’s fundraiser. Select your item by clicking on the "Incentives!" button. If you wish to donate without selecting an item, use the  “Donations!” button. Everyone is welcome to participate, so  please share, share, share with your friends and family!!

FAQ:

How does this work? How do I support this campaign?

Dozens of local businesses have donated gifts or services that we are calling incentives. Browse the list of incentives using the "Incentives Here!" button.  When you purchase one, the money goes straight to the PTA! Dont forget to click "see more" to find out more about the business and the gift.

In this model, the businesses are the donors and you are a supporter! If you want to make an online donation and do not want an incentive, click on the "Donate Here" button . Voila! Now you are a donor too!

Why use Go Fund Me?

We decided to use this platform for multiple reasons. It is free to nonprofits while still retaining robust features as well as trusted financial procedures. It is easy to use and we think it will help you see that you are a part of something beautiful. Crestwood is (and has!) a community that cares.

Can I donate using a check?

We trust the robust security of the biggest online crowdfunding platform available. We would love for you to consider donating online so everyone can see the progress we are making towards our goal. However, if you don't feel comfortable using your credit card online we still want you to be able to contribute. You can write a check to Crestwood Elementary School PTA  and mail it to: 2318 McRae Road, North Chesterfield VA 23235. Email rachel@innerworkcenter.org for more information.

How do I know my money is going where you say it's going?

This platform is connected straight to the PTA bank account. There are multiple security features embedded in the platform. We were required to enter our TaxID as well as our PTA credentials. All have been confirmed by our PTA Treasurer.
