The Disabled Patriot Fund was recently introduced to disabled USMC Vietnam era veteran, Charles Bakutis and his wife Laura of Crestwood. Charles was injured during a training exercise prior to deployment to Vietnam. Their son Adam also served in the USMC and was deployed to Afghanistan. Adam suffered from severe PTSD upon returning home and sadly took his own life in 2015. This heartbreaking loss for Charles and Laura changed their lives forever and contributed to the deterioration of the family home. This family has sacrificed so much for our freedom it is up to us to help them in their time of need.
The Bakutis’ home is in need of repairs and due to Charles’s inability to make the repairs himself, the home has severely deteriorated. The Disabled Patriot Fund, along with kind neighbors and other organizations & businesses, have stepped up to make the renovations needed to bring the home up to code with the Village of Crestwood. The Village of Crestwood has worked with the Disabled Patriot Fund by allowing extra time for the repairs to be made.
Some of the repairs that need to be completed are to demolish the dilapidated garage which is beyond restoration, install new siding, soffits and fascia, gutters and downspouts & windows, brick face repairs, etc, The Disabled Patriot Fund is seeking donations to help with this project. If you would like to make a donation to the renovation of the Bakutis’ home, click the “Donate Now” button. If you have any questions regarding this project, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
We thank you for your consideration.
