Perceptions Yoga, Mindfulness & Art - Help us, help you!
We are a small nonproft with no employees driven by our volunteers and board, and we need your financial assistance to help continue to provide virtual mindfulness, yoga, and art classes. This would include the cost for Internet service and other technology needs that now require a large portion of our limited budget. The pandemic forced us to go virtual, which made it possible to serve a wider audience, but at the same time, what we now realize is that virtual classes are a necessity as we strive for accessibility in a time of great need.
Perceptions Yoga, Mindfulness & Art was set to open its doors to our Center for Mindful Practices at the end of March, but due to the global pandemic, this grand opening never happened. Instead, we immediately began delivering our yoga classes to the public via Zoom for donations and pay what you can afford fees. Also, in partnership with Jennings County Schools, we went virtual with the JCHS Senior Art Show, currently on display in our empty building. We also began providing mindfulness classes for all Jennings County Schools staff members free of charge, twice a week and will soon offer outdoor yoga class options. We are in the process of expanding our online offerings to include more mindfulness classes and virtual yoga classes for all ages and to continue to create a YouTube library of instructional videos. With 140 hour certifications in trauma informed yoga for adults and 100 hour certifications in trauma sensitive yoga for children, now more than ever we are striving to fullfill our mission to provide our community and world with trauma informed yoga, mindfulness & art experiences. As our country faces possibly the greatest mental and physical health challenges in its history, we intend to provide the highest quality instruction in an array of mindful practices so that anyone regardless of status can pursue wellbeing.
