CREATE launched the IDEA Center two years ago to stengthen collaboration in support of creative ventures in Central WI.
Our small-town take on urban innovation centers, the IDEA Center provides co-working spaces, makerspaces, meeting & classroom spaces, and access to a growing network of people who support one another through these projects.
We have successfully leveraged grants to purchase technology that is key to start-ups and placemaking projects growing out of our space. This includes a podcast studio, a video production studio, and the only publicly available large-scale 3D printer in North America to print directly from recycled plastics.
We are participating in A Community Thrives in hopes of securing additional funds to grow our makerspaces and shared technology. While final decisions will be guided by dollars raised and areas of highest need, we are looking at printing presses, a recording studio, laser cutters, arduino and robotics kits, kilns, and other equipment that will expand our capacity to support creative arts, business, and community-impact projects in Central Wisconsin.
