Row New York combines the sport of rowing with academic support and college enrichment services to help kids living in under-resourced communities succeed in high school, graduate, and get into college -- many on athletic or academic scholarship. The organization's programs set students up for success and imbues them with the confidence and belief they can earn a four-year college degree.
Why am I going to Crash B? I love the sport of rowing and will forever value rowing's impact on my life. The camaraderie, sense of purpose and personal growth it provides should not be confined to elite private schools and universities. I firmly believe everyone who loves rowing owes it to the sport to pay it forward and extend its reach wherever its lessons can make a difference. Row New York’s mission and results are impressive, and I want to do my part to help fund the continuation and expansion of their brilliant programing. I have been in and out of rowing shells since I was 12 years old, but over all these years I never broke the 7 min benchmark on a 2,000-meter test. That all ends in March of 2020 on the biggest stage for ergometer testing.
I hope you will cheer me along, and more importantly appreciate and support Row New York as I do.
