In December of 2016, I was officially diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after years of pain and testing. To me, it was actually a RELIEF. When I did my research and looked at all the symptoms, it checked every box for me. But as relieved as I was to finally have an answer, it did change my life forever.
I've always been moving at 100 MPH - accepting social invitations, being a leader in various church groups, being a music director, not to mention my full-time day job. In 2017, my New Year's Resolution became "learn how to say no." I scaled back my responsibilities, did what I could to lower my stress level, and learned the hard way that I could no longer be "super wife." All I wanted was to do it all - work full time, volunteer, AND take care of my husband's needs. But life said 'no.'
Don't get me wrong, I'm very content with how things are going. I've been able to dive into my artwork, I've fallen in love with streaming and the small Twitch community (family) that I've found. But the rough days keep getting rougher, even with medication. We need research, resources, and education.
If you are able, please consider donating to the National Fibromyalgia Association. They have their hands in so many areas - medical research, educational material to provide online and in-person to help people learn about Fibromyalgia, resources for people who have it... It all helps.
On Saturday, May 15th, I hope you'll join me on my Twitch channel! There will be games for the whole community like Fall Guys and Mario Kart, donation incentives like choosing my makeup colors and choosing the next game series I'll stream, and raffle prizes like a Link mosaic and Diamond Art kits! I'll be starting at 10AM PDT at https://www.twitch.tv/craftygamerlady . Please also share this information so it can reach more people. Thank you SO MUCH, and I hope to see you there!
