Each spring, Community Partnership School comes together to Celebrate CPS – an evening of fun where we recognize impactful contributors, highlight our students’ accomplishments, and raise vital funds in support of CPS’ important work. At this year’s Celebrate CPS, we were excited to honor Melanie and Billy King, to hear from Obaida Elamin, a member of the CPS Class of 2013 and The Haverford School Class of 2020, and to reaffirm the exceptional bond that links every member of the CPS community.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, we will not host Celebrate CPS 2020. This announcement comes with a great deal of disappointment from CPS leadership and those who have diligently planned this year’s event. In particular, we appreciate our honorees, Melanie and Billy King, for their leadership through all our planning.
Celebrate CPS generates broad support every year from sponsors, attendees, and hard-working volunteers. Proceeds from the event produce 25% of our total annual income, so this cancelation serves as a major financial setback for the school. A shortfall like this could compromise our ability to continue fulfilling our commitment to our students and families through the rest of this fiscal year and beyond.
Please consider contributing to CPS to help us bridge the gap created as a result of canceling Celebrate CPS. Your support enables us to continue our vital work, especially during these unprecedented times. A gift now will be matched dollar for dollar up to $150,000 thanks to the generosity of the McCausland Foundation.
Wishing you and your family good health and happiness!
