United Black Family Scholarship Foundation contacted the principal at the Martin Luther King Elementary in Oklahoma City and discovered yet another school in distress. It is 95% African American. Furthermore, they are suffering from the technological gap and deficient funding. The principal described it as one of several schools in the Oklahoma City area that has been designated as a “transformation school”, that is a failing school in need of new systems and structures which support and provide solid foundations for every student. As the new leader charged with this task, he is extremely motivated to make the necessary changes.
That said, as a way to introduce our R.E.B.U.I.L.D. program to OKC communities and build partnerships, we are hosting a back-to-school drive in which we will be supplying children with the tools they need to distance-learn successfully. Working with school officials, we’ve identified the need for school supplies including but not limited to clothing, and internet access. Our goal is to raise $20,000, which will assist in purchasing the items.
We look forward to gaining your support in supplying these children with the tools they need for success this coming school year. So we ask that you please make this possible and help us give back to underserved communities! We are incredibly grateful for any and all contributions!
