The Howell Township First Aid and Rescue Squad #1 has been serving Howell Township since 1957. We have been there for every disaster, storm, or situation that has affected our area for the last 63 years. Of all of the events during that time frame, nothing has effected the entire population and our organization like the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Members are on the front lines 24/7/365 and try to respond to you as soon as you need us. In response to the risk of the Covid19-virus contamination, our members will be utilizing more protective equipment than usual including-
Surgical masks and respirators (N-95 and P100)
Goggles/ Safety glasses
Due to a national shortage, we have had difficulty obtaining gloves, gowns, masks, disinfectant wipes, and N-95 respirators. While we currently have supplies, we are using them up quickly and always looking for other means of replenishment.
Our Members are Volunteers and our operation is NOT tax funded. Like any organization, we have a budget set for the entire year. The current pandemic is effecting us in other ways that were not anticipated. We know this is a difficult time for many of our residents. With that being said, any monetary donations would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot afford it at this time that is completely understandable.
If anyone has extra cleaning and disinfecting supplies, such as- Bleach, Lysol sprays or wipes and paper towels can always be dropped off at our headquarters located at 16 Kent Road (next to WaWa) and would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, we would like to thank all of you, the residents, who are staying home, self-isolating and trying to make the best of things until this is over. We are optimistic that this soon will pass and life will resume its usual hectic and fast paced nature.
Thank you and stay safe!
