In the Fall of 2019, Virginia Tech students on the Linking Lives study abroad program were welcomed into the city of Wukro, Ethiopia with open arms. Students spent a month living in Wukro, getting to know the local culture and spending time with some of the wonderful people that comprise the community. Unfortunately, many people in Wukro are currently suffering great economic loss as a result of the global pandemic and COVID-19 related shutdowns. In an effort to help those in need in Wukro, we have created a fundraiser alongside Abba Gebre Yohannes, a local priest and college director. The money raised will be used to aid those who are most vulnerable by providing them with basic necessities such as food and PPE. Any contributions are greatly appreciated; thank you!
