CEA has been partnering with people with disabilities in central New Jersey for 50 years. The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us—and the people we serve inspire us.
Throughout 2020 CEA staff have adjusted virtually every aspect of daily working life to maintain and enhance services in support of our mission to facilitate career pathways and community employment opportunities for students & adults with disabilities.
All programs made quick pivots during this challenging year, adapting to provide both in-person and remote academics, coaching, job search support, counselling and a wide range of other outreach in order to keep a real, continual connection to both student and adult program participants.
We couldn’t have done it without the encouragement and financial support from the many individuals, such as yourself, and the business partners that believe in our mission.
Your generosity helped CEA to keep our doors open over the course of this year. Now we are asking your continued support as we continue to move from survival to recovery—as an organization and as a community.
We know that a job provides independence, pride in being an engaged, contributing participant in society—and the opportunity to make dreams a reality.
But people with disabilities face many barriers to finding a job. Even before the pandemic, there was a 47 percent gap in New Jersey’s workforce between people with disabilities and those without disabilities.
CEA provides individualized employment and workplace-readiness programs to about 350 students and adults with disabilities each year. As programing gradually resumes, we are anticipating increased demand for our services as individuals look to go back to work only to find that their previous job might not be there for them right away—or at all.
Please help us build their road to recovery:
For just $25 a month, you can equip two of our job-training coaches with protective masks when working in community employment settings.
Your gift of $50 a month can provide 15 workers with disabilities at our manufacturing and packaging site with surgical masks for a week.
Your $150 donation will fund one week of enhanced sanitation/disinfection supplies at our main site in Flemington.
A gift of $300 would allow us additional disinfection flexibility, and an opportunity to train people for possible careers in their community, by the purchase of a battery powered backpack style sprayer.
Your donation of $600 would cover the cost for daily thermal scan record keeping for all persons entering our facility for a year.
And if you can donate $1,000, you can fund 40% of the cost of the no-touch remote thermal scanner or approximately 6 weeks of surgical masks for all 42 people with disabilities that will eventually return to CEA as their workplace.
Please contact us at email@example.com or 908-782-1480 ext. 222 to discuss larger gifts, estate planning and other ways you can support CEA.
