How your gift helps those in need
The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is putting Eastern NC's animals at risk. People are losing the ability to pay for essential supplies and veterinary care for pets, Families, rescues, sanctuaries and other organizations are struggling with staffing and resource shortages. As we have seen during other times of economic hardship, pet owners are often forced to surrender their beloved companions when their financial distress exceeds their ability to afford the cost of caring for them. Shelters and rescue groups then struggle to absorb that cost. Your emergency gift will help us respond to this crisis and the ripple effect on animals in need due to increased poverty now and in the months and years ahead. Donations will help offset veterinary costs and provide food and supplies to those impacted most, including, but not limited to strays, owner surrenders, the large number of spring kittens, and for emergeny food and vet care for those people who have been hit hard by this disaster and find themselves having to give up their beloved pet and family member. A bag a food can keep a family together! With many shelters closed, the cats and kittens simply have no where to go. We get pleas for help daily! We have space, but not the funding to vet the influx of animals in need. Currently we are only accepting those in immediate danger on a case by case basis. We could do so much more with your help! Keeping families together is critical to the recovery from this unprecedented crisis and Beare Garden Plantation Animal Rescue is striving to address immediate and long-term needs in order to ensure the best possible outcome for the rural areas we serve. We have started a waiting list for admissions that we hope to resume after the Stay At Home Orders have been lifted.
Beare Garden Plantation Animal Rescue’s mission is to ease the pain, hunger, abuse, as well as to provide shelter and help to find forever homes for the creatures God entrusted to us. By acting as a resource and educating the community about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can move toward the prevention of over breeding of animals. By facilitating adoptions of homeless and neglected cats, we will be able to provide a short-term home for more unwanted or homeless cats.
