In El Salvador, the people are under strict quarantine, and most if not many, are unable to provide for their families. Streets are desolate. Many are losing their jobs. This lockdown only allows one member from each family to leave their home, but only to get essentials. Families who are already struggling to get by are desperate for help.
As members of a global community, we are called to support one another, and these families in El Salvador are crying out for our help. Though many of us are also struggling because of this on-going pandemic, we ask, only if you are able, to give to this cause. It does not have to be much but every dollar counts.
This cause will be similar to the Tular Mission trip we help organize every December, which gives food provisions to families in the remote and interconnected islands of Tular, El Salvador. Families, per four members, receive a bag full of groceries such as oil, beans, rice, sugar, fruits, and vegetables. This time around, however, we will expand our reach to not only families in the islands of Tular but also to those living in the city of Usulután.
The mission leader, Any Bonilla, runs the food provision mission in the islands of Tular. Any (pictured in a pink blouse), not allowed to return home to Canada due to national lock down, brought to our attention the struggle these families are facing because of the COVID-19 pandemic. She is pleading for help on behalf of these families -- prompting us to create this campaign on our website and on GoFundMe.
Any will be leading this mission in El Salvador, but we ask you to be leaders in this mission where ever you are at. If you are unable to donate, please send our link to all your contacts. Even if you do donate please still do send the link to all your contacts. A little goes a long way.
On behalf of our CEMinistries family, we thank you for reading this and receiving our words into your hearts.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. (Matt. 25.35).” Let’s all be a light, shining brightly in this darkness.
May God bless you all!
