As low-income individuals and families struggle financially because of COVID-19, you can help provide them with a sense of stability in the most important place for them during this pandemic—their home.
Your tax-deductible donation will help these households pay their rent through the City of San Diego’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program and/or subsequent, similar programs in the City of San Diego. These programs provide payments to qualifying households to help pay past-due or upcoming rent.
Private donations supplement the allocated federal funding so more families and individuals can receive the help they need as the global COVID-19 pandemic continues. Restrictions on the use of federal funds do not apply to private donations that support this program.
The San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) has been awarded a $100,000 economic relief grant from Bank of America for this COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program. To learn more about this grant, please read SDHC’s news release.
SDHC administers the City of San Diego’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program for the City of San Diego. Donations are payable to SDHC Building Opportunities Inc., SDHC’s nonprofit affiliate.
