On February 14th, our non-profit put earnest money down towards the purchase of a facility. At the time, we were at building capacity stage. The purchase of this facility would allow us to facilitate ALL of our outreach components simultaneously. Also, to implement life-changing programming for residents in Guilford County.
And then, the COVID-19 pandemic. This situation has affected millions of Americans in different ways. Some are more affected than others during this health and economic pandemic. And now coupled with social injustice adds fire to the flame. You can help defuse that flame.
At this time, we are reaching out to those who may have not been so deeply affected by the current economic situation. We are asking for your help to ensure a brighter future for those in need.
Our mission is to empower and enrich the lives of at-risk youth, teens and adults in underserved communities. From food pantry services to robotic exploration summer camp for at-risk youth. From I.T. certification training for women to apprenticeship training for young adults ages 16-24. From teen summer employment to creating 30 adult jobs over the next two years. All of these services offered free of charge for area residents.
We received a Letter of Intent for a loan to acquire property, but due to the pandemic and the economic uncertainty, banks are reconsidering all loans. Due to COVID-19, we had to cancel four major fundraisers that would have gone towards our working capital. We have applied for numerous grants. Funding from lenders and grants is being delayed or has been exhausted. This facility is imperative as we phase into a new normal. But now, we are on the verge of losing the building which would be very detrimental to the people we serve.
Kindly consider sowing a seed into this much-needed facility in our community. Your contribution is 100% tax-deductible and will be used to assist us with our down payment. Think of the lives you can affect by helping us house enriching programs that eradicate hunger, decrease education inequity, increase job skills with exposure and awareness of the STEM and I.T. fields. Ultimately, create jobs and re-establish financial stability - many have lost their jobs.
Please help us with our Build-A-Brick Emergency Fund. To show our appreciation, those individuals who donate $1,000 or more names will be displayed on a brick at our new facility. Every brick signifies hope during these uncertain times.
Any size donation would be greatly appreciated and used to acquire this property which will become a community staple in Guilford County.
