Help us support our Lincoln NE friends and families during this time of need.
From the day we heard that the schools were going to shut down, we have been working hard to distribute food to families in need. As this crises has grown longer, we have expanded to assisting anyone that requests food assistance, hygiene products, in some cases pet and over the counter medicine, as well as diapers and formula. While we have always tried to do our best to assist those in need, we are now hitting a critical point. We are serving over 100 families a week, 2-3 bags of groceries and will run out of money to keep assisting in the next two weeks. Nothing crazy, simple pantry items- tuna, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, pasta and sauce. Basically enough food items to sqeak by a week.
To date we have delivered over 3000 bags of groceries, relying on a network of volunteers and no contact porch delivery. We want to be able to continue to serve these and new families that need the assistance, as well as being able to start providing small amount gas cards for those that need to also go to other food pantries but are unable to because of no gas.
We need to raise $14,000 to get through the end of July, averaging about 1000 a week, without our numbers increasing or supplying gas cards to those in need.
