As we find ourselves in a period of physical distancing and resources which are usually available not being as accessible, this initial initiative is to remove those barriers and get the food right to the kids and families who don't have enough to eat.
Our initial plan was to pack 80 food baskets of groceries (including dairy, fresh produce, grains and protein products) and deliver it directly to those in need. On March 21, in collaboration with a variety of non-profit organizations in Oakland County and the Oakland County Poverty and Homelessness Task Force, moneys raised here were used to provide food to 180+ families.
A second delivery of food for 200 families is scheduled for April 4th. Monies raised here will be used to help with that initiative and to assist individuals and families in need.
