IFAM partners with artists across the globe to promote sustainability, women's empowerement, artist mentorship, community outreach and education programs and documentation.
Join us in taking part in our first annual 10 for $100 event! A grass-roots online fundraising initiative wherein you become an IFAM Ambassador!
We invite you to join us in raising $25,000 by recruiting 10 of your nearest and dearest friends to raise $100 each by year end. This will allow IFAM to gear up for its 2020 Market Season focusing on our five new initiatives that are already propelling us forward into the future!
1. Sustainability: honoring natural materials and ecologically sustainable practices
“Our proud family workshop is among the remaining weavers practicing ancestral traditions and using sustainable methods to create 200 shades of natural color.”
Juana Gutiérrez Contreras & Porfirio Gutiérrez | Mexico
2. Artist Mentorship: peer-to-peer exchange to drive artists' success
“Sabahar cooperative artists were taught by their mothers to spin cotton and by their fathers to weave.”
Sophie Mosko | Sabahar | Ethiopia
3. Women's Empowerment: focus on uplifting women artisans into economic independence
“Our life depends on the fibers. It is my sense of duty to pass it onto future generations.”
Nilda Callañaupa Álvarez | Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco | Peru
4. Heritage: capturing culture and practice for future generations
“Today my retablos are artistic expressions to show what happens in my world.”
Claudio Jiménez Quispe | Peru
5. Community Outreach and Education Programs: sharing IFAM artists to our community here at home
“I aim to bring together artisan families and communities to create high quality, hand-crafted products for the world to see.”
Hemangini Rathore | Sudarshan | India
IFAM supports and collaborates with folk artists as a means of celebrating human dignity, artistic traditions, and personal creativity. Together, we achieve incalculable change and impact in communities worldwide.
Join us in the last months of 2019 as we implement our compelling fall Folk Art Matters program and as we lay the groundwork of our 2020 Market.
Join the fundraising team by clicking the ‘Join the Team’ button. We are asking that each team recruit 10 individuals to raise $100 each for a team total of $1,000. By creating 25 teams, we will reach our goal and work toward funding IFAM’s newest initiatives. If you have any questions, please contact Adrienne Murray at 505-992-7608 or email@example.com
A world of thanks!
