Northside Common Ministries hopes to raise $5,000 to create and publish a book of stories told directly by some of the homeless men we help. With the funds, we will pay creators and produce a first run of a graphic novel called “Drawn to Home.”
“Drawn to Home” is an educational comic book which will share snapshots of the lives of 8 homeless individuals from various backgrounds. The comic will be provided to middle and high school aged youth giving them an understanding of the diversity of the homeless community.
Through such awareness future generations will have a better understanding of the struggle of individuals experiencing homelessness and encourage a more compassionate response to those individuals as well as a desire to advocate for systematic changes that will help end homelessness.
