Española Humane offers more love per paw to New Mexico’s pets who need them the most. This “little shelter that could” could use your help purchasing elevated beds to keep dogs and puppies off of the cold concrete floors, and new cat trees to enrich the lives of cats in their care. Española Humane sheltered 2,675 pets last year in their small facility, and they do more with less - like offering completely free spay/neuter surgeries to stem the tide of homeless pets in the community. But while they focus limited resources on quality medical care, enrichment, and lots of love, a pet’s stay should also be as comfortable as possible.
Elevated beds reduce joint stress while offering a warm, dry, soft place for anxious, stressed-out pets as they wait for their forever families. New beds constructed with PVC piping are easy to clean and sanitize which makes transmittable disease easier to control, and these beds last longer than others. Cat trees reduce stress and help boost the happiness and immune systems of sheltered cats. Every pet deserves a warm, comfortable bed to sleep on and a place to explore while waiting for that sweet spot next to their new family member.
The shelter desperately needs new Kuranda beds. (Photos of puppies on Kuranda beds are at Ojo Santa Fe's Puppy Patch.) All funds raised will be used to purchase 20 small beds and 20 large beds, all with washable cushions, and several cat trees. Will you help me reach my fundraising goal?
