On Sunday March 25th, the Columbia lacrosse team will be playing Harvard. This game is our platform to raise awareness about the One Love Foundation and its efforts to prevent dating violence by ensuring that every individual knows the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. Not only will 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in this country experience a violent relationship in their lifetime, but young women from the ages of 16-24 are at a 3x greater risk. As college women, we understand the prevalence of this issue and want to do our part to support One Love’s work and spread its movement to our families, friends, and greater community. On this day, we honor both Yeardley Love and former Columbia lacrosse player Kathleen Roskot by playing the sport they both loved and advocating for the respect and compassion with which every human being deserves to be treated.
Please consider donating to our fundraiser on behalf the One Love Foundation. Donations can be given outright, or instead, one can pledge a certain monetary value for every goal we score against Harvard.
Thank you for your support and go Lions!
