A dozen Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employees throughout the utility's service territory are joining together for the Cool Down for Warmth event, hosted for and benefiting the Dollar Energy Fund. The Dollar Energy Fund is a non-profit organization that helps income-eligible families and seniors who are experiencing hardship by providing utility assistance and other services that lead to self-sufficiency. During the Cool Down for Warmth event, the Columbia Gas team, along with other business and community leaders, will take their turn in an ice house constructed in Market Square, downtown Pittsburgh. Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania employees will stay in the ice house until their fundraising goal of $3,000 has been achieved. All donations will receive a dollar-for-dollar match from Dollar Energy Fund’s partnering utility companies, including Columbia Gas. 100% of the donations and matching funds will be used to provide utility assistance grants to local families in need. Columbia Gas believes investing in the communities where we live and work helps to enhance the quality of life for our customers, employees and communities we serve. Throughout the year, Columbia Gas donates time, money*, and other resources to hundreds of local philanthropic programs and organizations, including Dollar Energy Fund.
