Every year, college athletes generate billions of dollars for their schools, but are denied the right to earn any money from their own name, image, and likeness. Their efforts have made millionaires of coaches and those who run college sports, but the vast majority of full-scholarship athletes live at or below the federal poverty line.
This fall, the College Athlete Advocacy Initiative is proud to launch its first PSA in support of college athletes' rights to their own name, image, and likeness. We support state and federal legsilation on the topic, including California's "Fair Pay to Play Act," which we encourage Governor Newsom to sign into law!
Help us make a difference! Please consider donating $14, which represents the $14 billion generated off the labor of college athletes last year. Our fundraising goal of $14,000 will help provide legal services to college athletes and push for an end to the disturbing exploitation that threatens to ruin college sports.
