Miles for Mental Health Awareness

Since today, 10/10, is National Mental Health Day I want to come forward and to reflect on my own difficulties and insights with Mental Health. The struggles of depression I have battled most of my life has opened my eyes towards others dealing with their own personal issues. As humans, we all react differently to hardships and blues in our lives. Some are resilient enough to mask the pain while others may feel weaker and more prone to thier struggle. If you ever find yourself alone in this battle, I encourage you to reach out to the people you love as well as your communitiy.
I want to devote my upcoming cross country excursions towards the people who are suffering from the Global Mental Health Epidemic. Going through my own phases of depression inspired me to regain consciousness to support others experiencing their own hardships. I'm ecstatic to run in support of this movement to raise awareness, support, and encourage others as well to embark on their own spiritual and empowering restoration. I am currently planning on running at least a 10K every other weekend around California to help donate towards this cause. This upcoming weekend, I plan to start my journey in Gualala for the community's annual river run. The ultimate goal of this campaign is not only to donate towards this cause but have others take a different perspective towards what I am pledging in the direction of:

Refraing from Substance Use for Coping

Incorporating Mindfulness

Eliminating the Stigma Towards Mental Health

Acceptance towards Self-Resentment

The upcoming races I am planning to partake in are:

1.Gualala River Run 5K 10/12

2.Stinson Beach 7 Miler: 10/26

3.The North Face Endurance Challenge in San Francisco 11/17

I'm hoping I'll be able to participate in more events in the future
