I’m so humbled and grateful to be running the 2019 Boston Marathon for Colin’s Joy Project. Colin’s life was cut so tragically short. I’m so fortunate enough to have had a chance to see the life and love he exuded in his tiny body! I will work so hard in the next couple months to make sure I do my part to ensure the memory of my fellow donut loving friend lives on forever. Join me in donating to the amazing things Colin’s Joy Project will Accomplish

Colin McGrath was taken into heaven on Wednesday, July 25th after a wonderful day in the park. His life was full of love, laughter, curiosity, and learning. Always playing, singing, dancing, and asking questions, Colin lived every minute of his brief time with us to the fullest. His laughing eyes, beautiful curls, hilarious voice, and sense of adventure will never be forgotten. His smile made everyone's heart happy. Colin leaves behind his best friend and partner in crime, his 4 year-old sister Sloane. These two spent countless hours on the playground at various parks around South Boston. We pray his spirit lives on in each of us forever.
Since Colin's death, the McGrath family started a donor-advised fund through the Boston Foundation, called Colin's Joy Project, which is focused on giving back and creating joy for children and families in Boston. They will use this fund to make grants for rebuilding local playgrounds and funding family-focused programming, particularly for families in need.
