COBURWAS CITOYA offers many programs and has many ongoing initiatives. The community-owned school (founded and led by refugees for refugees) is located in Uganda and offers scholarship opportunities for those who cannot afford the school fees or study materials while also offering other wide ranging support.
The focus of this campaign is to help provide funding towards children's education specifically for the Girls of Transformation program.
The Girls of Transformation program is specific to the issues that females face in their journey towards education. This initiative makes efforts to reduce the high dropout rate for females by providing them with valuable tools and support. Issues these girls face include early marriage, gender-based violence in their homes, lack of scholastic and sanitary materials at school, as well as lack of mentors or counselors. CIYOTA provides peer-to-peer talks, scholastic and sanitary materials, guidance, and counseling. This type of support helps place value on education, reduces the rate of absenteeism, helps to develop self-confidence, awareness and high self-esteem.
Please help support these young girls, who need so much support in their current environment in order to be educated, empowered, healthy, treated equally and safe!
