I signed up for a personal challenge to see how many vertical feet I could climb and push myself for the month of October to get outside my comfort zone and train for ski season (@CirqueSeries Vertical Challenge). It's been an amazing competition with about 300 others. It's all self paced and for me mostly a solo effort, but I have been trying to sneak in short hikes during the week before work or at lunch, then try to do longer hikes on weekends, sometimes with my family. During many of my solo hikes, I often wish this could be part of a bigger and more meaningful goal.
Over the past few months I have been thinking a lot about a buddy who is going thru cancer and how this disease has affected many of my friends and family over the years. It's something that statistically will affect 1 in 3 of us over our lifetime and though there has been much progress thru the years, it's never enough. With that said, I created this page to help bring more awareness of this disease and hopefully drive more hope for those friends and families we want to help more.
My goal is to climb 50,000+ vertical feet in October, which is about 10 times more than my typical month of hiking/climbing (for real). With this physical commitment, my ask is that you please donate anything you can to the American Cancer Society via this page. I am setting the goal to raise $1,000 + for the American Cancer Society over the next couple of weeks.
No worries if you can or donate as there is a lot of shit going on in our world. If you cannot donate, i just ask that you do some research on cancer, get educated, make a change to your lifestyle to decrease risk of cancer and/or reach out to a friend or family who is going thru this terrible disease to see how they are doing or just lend an ear.
To keep me on point with my commitment, you can track my progress here:

Thank you in advance to those who can help out and support this cause.
Be safe and take care. Much love ❤️
