CLIMB FOR HEROES 2020 - September 13th

Sadly, after putting our heads together with the USFS, we came to the mutual decision that we must cancel the 2020 Climb for Heroes event.  We are in the business of bettering lives, and we don’t feel like we can responsibly host an event like Climb for Heroes while adhering to State and Local COVID-19 health advisories. While we are still as dedicated as ever to supporting our veterans, your safety comes first.  Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We are looking forward to hosting you in the future, once the global health pandemic passes.

We can NOT wait to see you at Climb for Heroes 2021 – it is ALREADY confirmed for Sunday, May 16th – put it in pen on your 2021 calendar.  Make sure to stay tuned to our social pages so that we can keep connected.

Climb for Heroes is a non-competitive, family friendly day hike accessible to all fitness levels and age groups. Children and friendly dogs are welcome to participate with their well behaved adults. You can hike with friends and family, form a team, or come alone and meet other do gooders at the event. With a minimum donation of just $120 per participant, Climb for Heroes is accessible to everyone. You can pay in full today when you register, or register for$20 now and fundraise to meet your goal. BUT, don't stop at $120!There are GREAT prizes for highest fundraisers. And let's be honest..... without your incredible fundraising, your passion for the outdoors, the lure of our local mountains, and your undeniable need to sweat for a really good cause, we wouldn't be able to continue our important work.

What does the day look like?

Event check-in and our base camp are located at the trailhead at the top of the Mount Baldy Ski Lift parking lot. There will be a $5/car fee to park in the super convenient lot. Check-in begins at 7:30 am and will continue until 10:00 am. THP will supply snacks and the all-important coffee. You just need to bring water, your hiking daypack, a credit card or cash for incidentals, and your fun self. Once youve checked in, you can start your hike during any one of the every 15 minute heat releases. Camp 1 will be a mere 30 minutes to an hour from Base Camp. And as you hike up the mountain, you will find another camp at each 30-45 minute interval. At each camp (there are five total including the summit) participants will receive a coin redeemable for a kick ass gift at the end of the day. The more coins you receive, the more swag for you at the end of the day. Mt. Baldy is 10,064 feet and a little less than 6 miles UP. Dont worry, we have our injured veterans situated strategically on the mountain to provide you with inspiration and motivation. But, you can hike down at any point, trade your coins for goodies, and hang out with us at base camp enjoying beautiful weather and mingling with really good people.

The Heroes Project makes the impossible a reality by empowering our injured community through physical and emotional training, allowing them to explore the farthest reaches of themselves and the world they live in. These expeditions challenge the severely wounded to redefine their personal limits post injury. The Heroes Project inspires our injured men and women to find purpose, both physically and mentally, and ignites others to do the same.  The core work of The Heroes Project includes three initiatives:

Expeditions for Heroes
Hope for Heroes
Voices for Heroes
