Imagine having a passion for adventure sports, but also having a disability that makes it difficult or impossible to participate in those sports. Enter the adaptive recreation program in Castle Rock. We believe that with the right support, anyone can participate in ANY recreation activity! We believe it is vital to have access to these opportunities, and are honored to facilitate that access.

The adaptive recreation program provides fantastic adventure, family, and social events for people with developmental or physical disabilities, those with Autism, and anyone else who needs our services to lead an active life. It’s not only important that everyone has access to an active lifestyle, but also that we change the community’s perception of disability.

Often, adaptive recreation programs are cost-prohibitive for families, so we work hard on behalf of our participants to keep the costs low, and to offer generous scholarships. Proceeds from town events such as Climb4Change and Live Big will go directly to keeping the costs low and to providing scholarships so that no one is turned away based on finances. In previous years, we have given away more than $10,000 in scholarships and purchased adaptive equipment to accommodate for a variety of disabilities. To be able to maintain this level of support, we need your help!

This year we are partnering with Special Olympics of Colorado to help with our goal, "To empower citizens with disabilities to lead an active lifestyle by offering exciting recreation programs with continued commitment to compassion, independence, and inspiring new interests."
