Class of 2019,
Graduation is rapidly approaching! In just one month, we will welcome loved ones to NYC, accept our diplomas, and begin our post-grad lives.
No matter where we go after graduation, we have many reasons to be grateful for TKC. As an expression of that gratitude, our desire is to leave King’s better than we found it by establishing a “Community Fund."
This "Community Fund” will benefit future members of the King’s community in times of crisis or tragedy. Remember when students rallied around Professor Coleman’s family in the wake of Hurricane Harvey or rushed to help Rachel Cline after she was robbed at the end of her freshman year? The Community Fund will formalize this bias towards generosity for years to come.
Imagine if every current student at TKC gives just $20 to the Community Fund when they graduate. By 2022, The King’s College Community Fund would have over $11,000 in it. That’s remarkable.
We are at our best when we rally around each other. As a small school, we have the ability to actually see each other’s needs (and actually allow others to see our needs). Lifting each other up in those times — financially and otherwise — is one way we embody intentional care and radical generosity. This fund is inspired by the greatest strengths of our community. We hope that you will join us in donating to the Community Fund — no donation is too small.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us if you have questions or concerns. We look forward to graduating with each and every one of you.
Sincerely,
The Senior Class Gift Committee
