I am an advocate for access. I am a believer in the power of education. I am a product of a public education and am shaped by a lineage of educators. I am running a marathon to raise money for an organization that I'm thankful to work for and one that is creating a safe place for kids around the world to receive a quality education. I am running as a display of appreciation to the teachers who helped and encouraged me in my own journey through school. I am running to honor my grandfather, who dedicated his life to improving the public school system in rural and underserved areas. Join me in this journey as I share my story about what education means to me. Join me in helping Pencils of Promise extend its impact in Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos, where more than 500 public primary schools are a place where more than 100,000 students feel safe, supported, and encouraged. Join me in a mission to make the world a better place through the power of literacy.
