“Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.” -- Robert F. Kennedy
At City Year Los Angeles, we believe every student has the power to reach their full potential. But in Los Angeles, 1 in 5 students will not graduate high school.
There is a significant gap between the personalized supports that students need and what most urban schools have the capacity to provide. City Year Los Angeles partners with 32 of the Los Angeles Unified’s highest-needs schools to help bridge that gap. Working alongside teachers, City Year AmeriCorps members provide academic and social-emotional support to thousands of students who are at risk of dropping out, provide classroom support, and contribute to a positive school culture, climate, and community.
Our dedicated AmeriCorps members have been sending forth #ripplesofhope to students and communities of Los Angeles for the past 12 years — helping elementary school students recognize their potential, middle school students embrace their brilliance, and high school students graduate ready for college, career and life.
By supporting our city’s future leaders through City Year’s L.A. Clippers Challenge campaign, your generous donation will help us unlock an additional $80,000 award. We hope we can count on your support.
