We Are City on a Hill and We Are Going Places
City on a Hill’s three schools in Roxbury and New Bedford are filled with students with plans. These are students with forward momentum. These are students who are going places.
Our students are going to college. In 2019, our graduating seniors applied to over 80 colleges and universities. One-hundred percent of the graduating class of 2019 were accepted to college. Our college counselors organized school visits, including overnight campus stays, so our students would feel prepared when they got there.
Our students are already earning college credit. City on a Hill students can take dual enrollment courses in subjects like business, psychology and sociology through partnership with universities.
Our students are already making an impact in their communities. Last year our seniors volunteered over 12,500 hours of their time through service projects and internships with nonprofits and local government. Every student participated in service days in our communities. Our seniors participated in City Project, our capstone course which enables students to suggest solutions to complex societal challenges.
Our students are curious, opinionated, and eager to speak up. Through Town Meetings and debates, students have advocated for or against the Electoral College system, lowering the voting age, creating a wealth tax on billionaires, and making feminine products and contraceptives for free at all public schools and colleges in Massachusetts.
Our students are ready to go—but they will go further with your support. Our students are active, talented and motivated. You can provide access to the supports and opportunities that will help them realize their goals. Every gift is essential to ensure our program continues. While public tuition follows the student, City on a Hill’s model is designed to go above and beyond. Won’t you go above and beyond by giving generously in our Annual Appeal?
Will you invest in their potential?
Will you give to further their momentum?
Our scholars have such exciting futures ahead of them. Our alumni continue to inspire the City on a Hill community with their achievement in college, and their commitment to civic engagement. Their successes would not be possible without you. Please consider donating to City on a Hill to continue this important work.
We are City on a Hill—and we are going places. Will you join us?
