The East Orange Department of Health & Human Services, Health Education Division, is encouraging City of East Orange employees to get involved in the fight against breast cancer in a simple way - Pink & Denim Day. On Friday, October 23rd, we're encouraging employees to make a donation (no set amount, just whatever you can) to go casual in denim and wear a pink top to show support for breast cancer month. Donations go towards supporting American Cancer Society programs and services that help those with breast cancer, and provide information to help women and men understand how they might be able to reduce their risk of breast cancer.
Over a lifetime, a woman has a 1 in 8 chance of getting a breast cancer diagnosis. For men, the number is 1 in 833. It's important to keep funding research and creating awareness about this health concern that effects so many people.
We hope you'll participate and we look forward to seeing you in Pink & Denim on October 23, 2020!
