Red Oak Behavioral Health began serving the Greater Akron Community in 1963 and instituted its best-practice school-based mental health model in 1998. Today, Red Oak partners with 14 school districts and is embedded in over 90 school buildings providing mental health therapy and case management. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, schools are closed, which has required our typical method of service delivery to change. We are now able to offer therapy, case management and psychiatry only via telehealth. While this new platform allows us to stay connected, engaging students during this period of uncertainty with minimal structure is challenging, which puts our clients at risk. In addition, not every child in every district we serve has access to the appropriate technology to allow for continued therapeutic services, as well as continued distance learning.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Red Oak has purchased an additional 20 Chromebooks to distribute appropriately to children and families in need of staying connected! Will you help us by supporting Red Oak's Campaign of "Chromebooks for Kids!"
Every dollar helps to put this wonderful technology in the hands of those kiddos who need it!
