I'm raising funds for A Place Called Home! Join me in supporting youth in South Central Los Angeles this holiday season.
A Place Called Home first swung open its doors in 1993 – a year after the LA Unrest, amidst a crime epidemic that rendered the streets of South Central unsafe for children of any age. APCH’s mission was simple, but wrought with challenges: to provide the gang affected youth of South Los Angeles with a safe haven away from the life threatening dangers and temptations of the streets.
26 years later, APCH now comprises 35,000 square feet of space and includes an athletic field, commercial kitchen, dance studio, and state of the art teen services and performing arts center, plus two community gardens! Every day they serve hundreds of young people and their families with educational and artistic programs, counseling, mentorship, and more, empowering them to overcome adversity and build better, stronger futures for themselves, their communities, and the world.
