In Christmas 2014, as our children were internally displaced in camps, Etuti volunteers decided to plant the Christmas spirit in the hearts of these children by putting on their Santa clothes and distributing gifts to the children, as well as playing a bunch of fun games and showing cartoons in the camps. Soon enough, "Christmas Spirit" became an annual project. In 2015, we approached more IDP camps and more children, and even got within 20km of ISIS when we visited the children living in Mar Matti Monastery. In 2016, our hearts were filled with extra joy as some of the Nineveh Plains areas had been liberated, and a few of our people had returned. Thus, we decided to visit every child and kindergarten in the region.
This year, we are delivering gifts to Baghdedeh – Nineveh, the town that holds the largest number of returned families and children. In coordination with the churches in Baghdedeh, we want to draw smiles on nearly 4,000 children of Nineveh who have returned with their families to rebuild, restore, and retain their homes, churches, lives, and lands.
We need 10 dollars for each child. Think of it this way… you have a child or a younger sister or brother in Nineveh and Etuti will deliver the gift for you.
Please donate to our campaign today. Any amount helps.
