I am lucky enough to be a Junior Board Member for NAC (New Alternatives for Children), an organization that has tremendous meaning in the lives of many medically complex children. People often ask me why I run, and a big reason is, because I can. It keeps my mind sane and I find extreme satisfaction in continuing to push myself to see what physical feats I can accomplish. I realize not everyone is as lucky as I am to be able to get up every morning and go for a run. I try to remind myself of that daily and give back when I can. I am raising $5,240 for the children of NAC and the 26.2 miles I will be running on November 4th during the New York City Marathon. Not surprisingly, there is a method to my mathness, and dorkiness, this is $200 per mile. I greatly welcome any donation that feels comfortable for you! I know everyone is super busy, but if you can find 5 minutes, please, please watch the video.
NAC provides hope and help to thousands of children with disabilities and chronic illnesses throughout New York City. With comprehensive health and social services, NAC keeps children safe from abuse and neglect, and works with birth, foster, and adoptive families to keep children out of institutions and in nurturing, loving homes. Beyond safety and permanency, NAC supports each individual and family in reaching their full potential.
