The Taal Volcano that erupted in the Philippines on Sunday, January 12th 2020 has caused major problems for everyone within a 10-15 mile radius. We have 2 mission churches that we support both located inside of the affected area. The greatest need at the moment is the number of people who have been evacuated and are temporarily displaced. Crops and other local resources are a total loss. It will take months for the community to recover. The Bantangas Christ Baptist Church is currently helping with housing - and most importantly, FOOD - for approx. 60 families who have been displaced because of the Taal Volcano. These 60 families total about 180 people. We can feed each person for approx. $2.50 per day. As affordable as that may sound, that is still nearly $450 per day to feed all of these families. Right now, a sincere estimation of when these families will be back home, working, and no longer in need of the support is 3 months out. $450 per day for 3 months is more than $40,000. (And that is JUST FOR FOOD). The Batangas Christ Baptist Church simply does not have the funds to cover these expenses for the next 3 months. Our goal and prayer is to help cover this cost for these people and we will need your help to do it.
The Well Worship Center has worked directly with the Batangas Christian School and Batangas Christ Baptist Church for more than 12 years. We have sent 4 different teams over to serve in this exact area. I state that to ensure donors that we personally know the people we will be working with in this area and we have 12 years of history watching them properly use all funds we have ever sent their way. We will be sending ALL funds that come in through this campaign directly to the Philippines to be used specifically and ONLY for disaster relief for families and people in need who have been directly affected by the Taal Volcano. Anything that might come in over the approx. $40,000 needed for food will be used at the discretion of the leadership of the Bantangas Christ Baptist Church to help volcano victims in anyway they can beyond simply providing food.
Please consider helping us as we work to help the poeple of the Philippines affected by the Taal Volcano eruption. No gift is too small. God bless! - Pastor Joplin Emberson, The Well Worship Center.
