My name is Chris Welch. I am a Lietutenant with Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue. Over the years I have witnessed both professionally and in my private life countless people that have had to deal with the tragety that is tramatic brain injury. Some injuries ending with a full to patrtial recovery but all too many leaving the victims with long term and sometimes invisible scars that they will deal with the rest of thier lives.
I am supporting the Paper Crane Foundaton as a way to help people who have TBI's recover better, live more fufilled lives, and to help prevent more people from being afflicted with this long term injury. The PCF will be taking a group of people, almost all of witch have sustained a TBI in the course of fighting for our nation to Mount Everst base camp. Over the course of the 12 day hiking expidition a resercher form the Marcus Institute for Brain Heath will be gathering data from the participants to buld a diagnostic device that will be able to diagnose brain injuries in the field.
Thank you so much for your support. Every dollar gets us closer to our goal of helping people recover and more importantly preventing more of these injuries.
