Baby Port is on the way and we are very excited to welcome him/her at the end of August. It has been a very unique and challenging time to be pregnant during this world wide health crisis. We have missed out on things you would traditionally get to do during pregnancy like going to appointments together, hearing your baby's heartbeat regularly, and having guests at the hospital after our baby is born. Kaycee now goes to appointments by herself or has them virtually. Even though our experience has been very different than what we pictured when we found out we were prengant in December, we have felt very blessed. We have a wonderful support system and healthcare team encouraging and caring for us every step of the way. Unfortunately, that is not the case for every expectant mother across the world. That is why we have chosen to partner up with Every Mother Counts instead of having a traditional baby registry. Every Mother Counts is a non-profit whose mission is to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. They work to achieve quality, respectful, and equitable maternity care for all by giving grants and working with partners and thought leaders to increase awareness and mobilize communities to take action. Also, they have been committed to helping moms and care providers during COVID-19.
This child is already loved so much by so many and we truly appreciate everyone's love and support. We would like for this child's birth to make an impact on the world so in honor of his/her big arrival, we would like to use this opportunity to give back to others in lieu of gifts.
