Join CHPA & MOVE For Hunger's virtual fundraiser to help fight hunger, one step at time. Make a donation to help support Move For Hunger's COVID-19 relief efforts and show us how you're staying active while practicing social distancing. Move For Hunger is the first and only non-profit organization that has mobilized the moving, relocation, and multi-family housing industries to fight hunger and food waste by collecting unopened, non-perishable food from people who are moving and delivering it to local food banks and food pantries across the United States and Canada. Move For Hunger’s innovative, sustainable food-rescue programs have resulted in the recovery of over 18 million pounds of food to date, or the equivalent of more than 15 million meals for people in need since it's inception in 2009.

About The Event: September is Hunger Action Month and we are hoping you will support Move For Hunger during this important time. The COVID-19 Pandemic has had a massive economic impact and drastically increased the need for emergency food assistance nationwide. Move For Hunger is actively searching for ways to meet the need, and you can help us by staying active! Your support will accelerate Move For Hunger’s response to the growing hunger crisis our country is facing. Before the pandemic hit, 37 million Americans were already facing daily hunger, and estimates say 17.1 million more people will experience food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Already vulnerable, low-income populations--including school-aged children receiving free/reduced lunch, senior citizens, people experiencing homelessness, and those who are unemployed--are even more at risk. Experts agree that the effects of COVID-19 will require a long-term response, and Move For Hunger and its network are determined to see it through. Food banks, pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters are on the front lines, helping our most vulnerable populations every day. Move For Hunger remains committed to helping support our food bank & pantry partner with our food rescue deliveries.
In the months since the crisis began in the US, Move For Hunger and our network have helped to transport more than 2.1 million pounds of food, providing more than 1.6 million meals for those in need. Our Move For Hunger & CHPA virtual event will take place over the month of September. Commit yourself to an activity of your choice and dedicate your miles to meals.
What Counts As MOVING For Hunger? Pretty much anything that you can do at your home or outside (at a safe social distance) will count! Do yoga, stretch, lift weights, or take part in a virtual bootcamp or zumba class. Go outside for a run, ride your bike, hike a local trail, or take a walk with your dog! We may be all socially distancing from each other right now, but this is an opportunity for us to connect in a truly meaningful way. Together, we can help the families, children, senior citizens, and vulnerable communities who are facing hunger during this unprecedented crisis.
