My name is Conor Cunnane and I’m on the Young Leader’s Board of Children’s Scholarship Fund here in NYC. On Sunday, March 15th I will be running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on behalf of CSF.
I'm asking for support to reach my minimum fundraising goal of $1,750, of which 100 percent of the money raised will go directly to fund K-8 scholarships for New York City children in need.
To put into perspective how far each donation goes, consider that every $2,215 raised funds a scholarship for 1 year ($100 funds 2 weeks of schooling for a low-income student). So quite literally, no donation is too small. I’ve included more information on the organization below. I know money can be tight so whether you’re able to donate or not, happy to talk more about the organization and why I joined!
Founded in 1998, Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF) provides scholarships to low-income families so their children can attend the K-8 schools that best meet their needs. This school year alone, CSF is funding scholarships for more than 26,500 low-income children across the country, including 7,845 in New York City. Key to our success is strong family involvement, including the requirement that all families contribute toward their children's tuition. In 2017, more than 95% of CSF scholarship alumni in New York City graduated high school on time.
What We Do At CSF, we believe a quality elementary school education puts children on the path to success in life. To that end, we provide partial scholarships to low-income families so their children can attend the K-8 schools that will help them reach their full potential.
