The Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum and East Sioux Falls Historic Site is a 145 acre park that connects people with nature and the rich history of the area including life in a quarry town of the late 1800's. We have a replica one-room school house that we conduct educational classes for school-age children that meet the state standards for STEM program classes. We have hosted these classes since 2013 for 1st grades and 3rd grades with over 2000 children participating. This campaign is to raise money and awareness for these educational programs, provided at no charge to the schools. We have curriculum developed for K-5th grade and would like to incorporate those into our program but need money for teachers, supplies and to pay for transportation for the schools especially the Title I schools of our community that have no other way of participating. Join us in this campaign to raise our needed funds. We eventually would love to have an Endowment Fund that can continue to build these programs. The photos we have posted here, show the wonderful ways we have already helped many children in our community to connect and discover nature right here at home. Huge Value for your Donation-- thank you!!
