EHEA Members, Family, and Friends,
On Saturday October 12, 2019, I will be running the Hartford Marathon, and raising money for the Connecticut Education Foundation (CEF)
The Connecticut Education Foundation is a non-profit, charitable foundation that was established in 1991 to help children with extraordinary personal hardships and students planning teaching careers. The Foundation’s Children’s Fund assists needy students in Connecticut’s public schools and provides basic needs such as clothing, food, medicine, eyeglasses and hearing aids. The Holiday Bear Project is a holiday gift-giving program that links CEA members, the public, and businesses with hundreds of needy public school students. The CEF also offers scholarship programs designed to support high school and college students pursuing a career in education in Connecticut public schools.
In addition the Connecticut Education Foundation's Edward J. Boland Fund provides relief for active CEA members facing extraordinary or catastrophic personal circumstances, such as a serious family illness, unforeseen disaster, or other financial crisis. For almost a decade, during my tenure as a member, and currently chair of the Boland Fund committee, numerous EHEA members have received over $20,000 in assistance.
Please consider donating to the Connecticut Education Foundation.
