For many of us, the hospital is a place we frequent only when we really need to: for annual check-ups to make sure we stay well, for emergency care when something goes wrong, and for routine medical care from new prescriptions to immunizations. But for some in our communities, Bellevue Hospital is their second home.
For more than 70 years, Children of Bellevue has been dedicated to improving the lives of 25,000 children and teens who walk through the doors of the oldest public hospital in our nation–Bellevue–and making our hospital a place where New York City kids and teens can come to receive more than medicine.
Every year, a team of dedicated Children of Bellevue supporters hit the pavement in our concrete jungle to train for and run the TCS New York City Marathon! Since our first year as a charity partner, Children of Bellevue’s runners have raised more than $150,000 for our child-centric programs, and every year they work hard to increase awareness of our mission.
The TCS New York City Marathon is the largest marathon in the world. In 2020, the marathon, which will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2020, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
