We need to respond now.
Right now, 415 million children live in war zones. Many of them are in refugee and Internally Displaced Person camps, or crowded cities where social distancing is near impossible. The countries we work in have some of the weakest health systems in the world, leaving them exposed to the spread of COVID-19.
Imagine you’re a child who suddenly is forced to flee the safety of their home. You might be confused about what is happening. You might panic and fear being separated from your parents. Now imagine COVID-19 has hit your community. One of your parents has been taken away to hospital. And, at the same time, your school and places to play have been shut down. When a child finds themselves alone in crisis, there is a critical window of hours, days and weeks to ensure they are protected from harm.
Our team of experts have been working around the clock to put together a “Cash for Protection” response. Cash and food vouchers are the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to reach the most vulnerable families as quickly as possible.
$75 could support a family of 6 with food for one month.
This pandemic has brought the whole world to a standstill, and affected us all. It has shown how we are all connected, and we all have similar fears and needs. The children and families we work with need our solidarity and support now more than ever before, as the virus will increase the pressures they are under.
We’re used to supporting the world’s most vulnerable children in some of the most challenging environments. COVID-19 makes our hard job harder but we’re ready to respond. But we need your help.
Your gift will help us to meet our goal of protecting children in conflict. Thank you
