Founded in 1866, the mission of Child & Family is to strengthen Rhode Island families, their members, and the communities in which they live. Child & Family promotes the well-being of children, youth, elders and families through innovative, culturally competent, and integrated social services. Through multiple programs, including community-based services for individuals of all ages, as well as residential treatment programs for children and youth involved in the child welfare system, Child & Family impacts over 5,000 Rhode Islanders each year. As one of the largest social service agencies in the state, we are headquartered at our community center in Middletown. In addition, we operate a community center in Providence, five youth residential treatment homes across Aquidneck Island, a Supportive Housing program for homeless women and their children in Newport, and an Independent Living Program for youth aging out of the foster care system.
