This year I am running the Chicago Marathon on behalf of Chicago Commons.
I first became involved with Chicago Commons in the Spring of 2018 when I became a member of their Commons Emerging Leaders Council (CELC). What attracted me to Chicago Commons is their focus on the holistic family by working with individuals from pre-K to elders. Specifically, Commons provides high-quality early childhood education, family-centered adult education, and senior services. Not many organizations take such as holistic view to helping their neighbors and communities.
Additionally, what impressed me about the organization is that it has stood the test of time. Chicago Commons was founded in 1894 as one of Chicago's original settlement houses. Since then, the organization has continued to expand its services and now serves over 3,000 individuals annually in the Chicago-land area.
This year Chicago Commons is celebrating its 125th anniversary of serving the city of Chicago. Since its founding, Chicago Commons has focused on under-resourced neighborhoods and providing the tools for communities to strengthen skills, develop self-sufficiency, and improve overall wellness. When you support Chicago Commons you will enable parents to maintain jobs; ensure that hundreds of children are prepared to excel in elementary school; and guarantee that over a thousand seniors are receiving the care they need.
You can donate to my fundraising page here or you can mail in your donation to Chicago Commons Association at 515 E 50th street Suite 200 Chicago, IL 60615. All checks can be made out to Team Chicago Commons- Please be sure to add "Alex Kapustka- Marathon" to the memo line.
On behalf of the more than 3,000 children, families and seniors we will impact through your generosity, thank you for supporting Team Chicago Commons. Feel free to contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions.
